TEDx is a grassroots initiative, created in the spirit of TED\u2019s overall mission to research and discover \u201cideas that are worth spreading.\u201d TEDx brings forth the spirit of TED to local communities around the globe through TEDx events. These events are organized by passionate individuals, who seek to uncover new ideas and share the latest research in their local areas that spark conversations in their respective communities. The same passion was shared on February 27, 2022, when NIIT University witnessed its fourth edition of the event \u2018Parvaaz-Azaad, Aagaz, Aseem\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n

This year\u2019s theme enunciates pain and prejudice, and with a caressing touch, it propels them into a horizon of their own. The event was a mixture of emotions that opened up a new dimension of thoughts and made the audience experience each speaker and performer\u2019s journey in their way; Hailing from the snow-capped peaks of Jammu and Kashmir, possessing brawn, beauty, and unparalleled intellect, the event started with Sangeeta S Bal who was a novelty in a sea of normalcy, Followed by the multi-talented scholar, warrior, and sportsman, Maj Gen(Dr) Bipin Bakshi whose military approach enriched the morning hour. Subsequently, the event saw Yoga Bhavagna Jonnala with a Kuchipudi performance, and the elegance of her moves made each and everyone present there skip a heartbeat. Her discipline and hold of Kuchipudi kept everyone on their toes as she completed her segment beautifully. Later, talking about discovering stories with engaging characters, and backstories that make one feel as if they\u2019re inhaling that reality and learning from their experiences, Kevin Missal touched hearts with his simplicity. After high tea, the event resumed with Srikanth Velamakanni, the Co-founder, Group Chief Executive, and Executive Vice Chairman of Fractal, whose mission was to share his spirit of using the power of AI(Artificial Intelligence) for a better world. Then followed by an emotional talk by Lakshay Jangid, who is Jaipur’s sensational cyclist and MTB stunt rider and has won several prestigious awards for the nation. His words on the stage were the exact fire that the event aimed to build in each one present there.<\/span><\/p>\n

Coming from a diverse background, the talk by Harsh D. Mehta was jolly with references from movies and books, making the audience laugh while they explored the perspectives of the brilliant individuals. The next speaker was a man who held the power to transform people,\u00a0 and his teachings are nothing short of a masterclass, Author Sherry, aka Supreet Singh Arora, shared his journey with utmost subtlety and fineness to show how struggle had become a necessary part of his life at one point, and how he is always grateful for it. After him, the following speaker was an individual for whom life begins at the end of her comfort zone. Ridhi Khakhar, a versatile actress and a stunning model, went out of her way to pursue her dreams of acting, but not with so much ease, and shared her learnings from it.<\/span><\/p>\n

Music can heal wounds that medicine cannot touch. The event concluded with a thunderous performance from Mr. Sagar Lalwania whose voice soothed each soul in the auditorium.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event was a fine example of the hard work and dedication that the organizing team has shown. To tear away from the grasps and holds of this society, to soar above the mountains of doubt, find the courage to follow your heart, the theme carries the lamp of light and paves the path to walk on. NIIT university broadens its horizons each year and will continue to do so in the upcoming years with more such events like these.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
