There\u2019s a quiet expectation when you\u2019re studying in a university that you should be doing something \u201cmore\u201d.<\/p>\n
Not just attending classes, but building skills.
Not just learning, but achieving.
Not just participating, but standing out.<\/p>\n
And while I don\u2019t disagree or say that any of this is inherently wrong, I believe it creates a subtle pressure on students. To be impressive, to be different, to be noticeably<\/span> doing well.<\/p>\n Somewhere along the way, \u201cordinary\u201d starts to feel like something to avoid. You begin to wonder: \u201cIs what I\u2019m doing enough?\u201d \u201cAm I doing enough compared to everyone else?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n It\u2019s not always a loud fear. It\u2019s much quieter than that, and shows up in small decisions like saying yes to activities you\u2019re not fully interested in, in constantly trying to do more, in feeling uneasy when you\u2019re not being \u201cproductive\u201d.<\/p>\n But here\u2019s something I\u2019ve been thinking about a lot lately:<\/p>\n \u200bWhat if the fear isn\u2019t being ordinary, but about being unseen?<\/span><\/p>\n Because most of life, especially as a student, is not extraordinary in the way we imagine. It\u2019s a repetitive routine with slow progress that doesn\u2019t always look impressive from the outside.<\/p>\n But that doesn\u2019t make it insignificant.<\/p>\n Those ordinary days when we\u2019re attending lectures, spending time with friends, sitting with our thoughts, are where most of the growth actually happens.
