TEDxNIIT University 2021 Cancelled

On 14 April 2021, TEDxNIIT University announced the final event of 2021 will be postponed to 2022. With the rising number of COVID-19 cases, the nation, and the circumstances that prevailed within the campus, the decision of canceling the event was made. The theme was ‘Swadhyaya’ and the preparations were in full swing with sold-out tickets. 

In its final stages, the event came to a halt, only to be resumed in the next year. In a heartfelt note from the TEDx team, they exclaimed “TEDxNIITUniversity isn’t just an intelligent dialogue series, it is a cycle of weeks and months of planning to bring good and then finally delivering value” and promised to return next year with a new team and assured everyone that the tickets will be refunded. 

Even though the main event of talks by prominent personalities was halted, few small events under the banner of TEDxNIITUniversity did happen. A blood donation drive was organized in association with IngeNUity and the Indian Red Cross Society and an event called ‘SAMVAAD: Let’s Talk About It’ was also done with a focus on mental health wherein sensitization of mental health was done.
