Kite Flying Festival
The sky above NIIT University lit up with colorful kites on January 18 2024, as students, faculty, and staff gathered for the Twelfth Annual Kite Flying Festival in The Bowl and adjoining areas. The event was filled with laughter, cheers, and occasional friendly rivalry as 25 teams took up the challenge to be the last group standing. Each six-member team had a minimum of one female participant. With 10 identical kites, charkhee, sadda, and manjha given to each team, the competition was sure to be fair and thrilling.
Dr. Deepak Khanna, the event’s organizer, emphasized that the festival was a celebration of joy and community rather than competition. The sky turned into a lively battlefield as kites soared high and crashed into each other in spectacular duels in mid-air and on the ground. With friends cheering them on, the atmosphere merely grew more exciting. Volunteers from the Environment and Sustainability Club kept the location clean and ensured this beautiful setting was left untouched. As the festival wrapped up, the warmth of shared laughter and unforgettable moments left everyone looking forward to next year’s event, reinforcing NU’s tradition of togetherness and celebration.
