Hackorate: An AI-Based Web Dev Hackathon
“Hackorate,” the pre-fest event of siNUsoid v9, was a two-day AI-powered web development hackathon held on April 12th and 13th, 2025. With 50+ participants across 25+ teams, the event brought together creativity and tech in an engaging and collaborative space.
Day 1 featured an orientation workshop in LT 201, where participants explored the basics of web design and learned how to use AI tools to build landing pages. This set the stage for the main hackathon on April 13th in LT 203, where teams worked on creative themes using their design and coding skills. The entries were judged by Dr. Supratik Banerjee and Ms. Shilpa Suman.
The event concluded with a vibrant Tech Night at Courtyard-II, featuring:
- A showcase of webpage submissions with winners receiving cash prizes and gift cards — Team Meri Baggi (Dhruvika Bansal, Garvit Bajaj, Abhishek Kakde – all from the 2023 CSE batch) bagged the 1st prize, followed by Team Syntax-Error (Aditya Sharma, Anik Dutta Chaudhary – batch of 2023, CSE) as 2nd prize winners, Team Hardcoders (Parth Bhatt – 2024 CSE, Tanya Rishikesh – 2023 CSE, and Piyush Goyal – 2024 CSE) winning 3rd place, and Team Hackoholics (Bharat Yadav, Shourya Srivastava, Arka Mukherjee – all from the 2024 CSE batch) securing the 4th position.
- Fun games and activities with prizes from brands like Amazon, Zomato, Myntra, Blinkit, and Apple
- Live food stalls, adding to the festive vibe
Hackorate was a celebration of innovation and collaboration, and we look forward to more such tech events that nurture creativity and technical excellence on campus.
