Aapno NU By Dr. Chandan Medatwal

Manuj, who took admission in the B.Tech program at NIIT University (NU) in Neemrana, he shares experience that the past 3.5 years have been an unforgettable experience. The lush green campus, with its unique architecture and facilities, offers a perfect backdrop for students to explore their passions, learn new skills, and grow as individuals. And not only Manuj! This is the story of several students with different twists and turns, in my way, the Rajasthan way, in fact… Rajasthani language. As we usually listen- Khani Khamma! Padharo Sa! Mharo Rajasthan! And so onn…that ended to inspire me to write – ‘AAPNO NU’

So, Let’s begin!

“I remember the day I entered the main gate of NU. I was struck by the beauty of the campus, surrounded by the Aravali mountain range and dotted with an array of facilities. The first thing that caught my eye was the Jal Pilu tree, also known as the Elder Ancestor, which stood tall and proud in the center of the road while I entered in the campus. I felt a sense of peace and serenity just looking at it. As I walked around the campus, I discovered the North East point where I could witness the sunrise, the Mobius Ring which is NU’s large cemented, beautifully architectured emblem, and the sports fields, lawn, courtyard, and cage cricket facilities.

One of the most striking aspects of NU is its commitment to the four core principles – research-driven, industry-linked, technology-based, and seamless. This is evident in the way the university has been designed, with an emphasis on the latest technology and modern facilities. The classrooms, hostels, and cactus garden are all located in the campus near academic blocks, which are connected by the spine area between two buildings. And sometimes I took a very scenic view from the class when my teachers turn around to the white boards.

The Bowl area, with its serene and peaceful atmosphere, provides a perfect place for students to relax and reflect. It is surrounded by beautiful greenery, and I often found myself spending time there, either reading a book or simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

One of the best things about NU is the quality of its faculty members. With a strong focus on research, NU has attracted some of the best minds in the field to teach and mentor its students. I was fortunate enough to be taught by some of these talented personalities, who helped me to develop my skills and interests in my chosen field.

The university also places a strong emphasis on industry linkages. This is reflected in the many industry projects that students are encouraged to undertake, which provide a hands-on learning experience and help them to develop valuable skills that will be useful in their future careers. I was able to take part in several such projects, Heart touching events viz., TEDx, IngeNUity, SiNUsoid, Kavishala and many more that always gives hope in my eyes to notice me a gradually growing as a mature, sincere person.

In addition to the academic facilities, NU also provides students with a wide range of extra-curricular activities. The campus is now my second home. Many clubs and societies, which cater to a range of interests, from sports and fitness to music and the arts. I joined several of these clubs and got the opportunity to participate in various events and competitions. These activities helped me to develop new skills, make new friends, and have fun in a supportive and inclusive environment.

NU also has a number of facilities to support the well-being of its students. The university provides a range of health and wellness services, including medical facilities, counseling services, and sports facilities. I found these services to be incredibly helpful during my time at NU, especially during times of stress and uncertainty.

I was sitting on a bench in the lawn courtyard of NU, reflecting on my journey at the university. As I looked around, saw many other students laughing and chatting, enjoying their time together. Suddenly, a stranger walking towards me. The stranger introduced himself as Anuj, who had just started his BTech program at NU.”

Manuj welcomed Anuj and the two of them struck up a conversation about their experiences at the university. Manuj began by sharing his first year at NU. He talked about how he was initially intimidated by the academic rigor and the technology-driven curriculum, but how he soon found a supportive community of Leaders, students, staff and faculty members who encouraged him to pursue his interests and passions.

As the conversation continued, Anuj shared his own experiences. He talked about how he was struggling to adapt to the new environment and the pace of the program. Manuj could relate to Anuj’s struggles and encouraged him to keep pushing forward.

The next year, Manuj and Anuj both experienced the tragedy of losing a fellow student to a sudden illness. The loss brought the NU community closer together and Manuj and Anuj grew closer as they supported each other through the difficult time.

By their third year, Manuj and Anuj had both matured and grown as individuals. They took on leadership roles in NU and participated in various events. They also made several trips to industry sites in Neemrana, where they had the opportunity to apply what they had learned in the classroom to real-world challenges.

Finally, as Manuj and Anuj approached the end of their program, and placed in reputed Industries. They both agreed that their time at NU had prepared them for the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead, and that they would always cherish their experiences and the friendships they had formed at the university.

As they said goodbye, Manuj realized that NU was not just a place of education, but a place where lifelong friendships were forged and memories were made. He was grateful for the time he had spent at the university and was confident that the skills and knowledge he had gained at NU would serve him well in his future endeavors.

“My journey at NU has been a journey of discovery and growth. I arrived on campus as a student with a passion for technology, and I leave as a well-rounded individual, with a wealth of skills, experiences, and memories. I am grateful for the opportunities that NU has provided me with and I will always look back on my time at the university with fondness. NU has given me the foundation and skills that I need to succeed in my future career, and the support and encouragement to pursue my interests and passions. The university’s commitment to research, industry linkages, technology, and seamless education has provided me with an education that is truly ahead of its time.

I would highly recommend NU to anyone who is looking for a university that is at the forefront of education and technology. With its beautiful campus, talented faculty, and exceptional facilities, NU provides a unique and inspiring learning environment that is unparalleled in its commitment to students. Whether you are looking for a supportive community, a challenging curriculum, or opportunities for personal and professional growth, NU is the place for you.” Manuj felt nostalgic.

NU is more than just a university, it is a community of learners and educators, united by a shared vision of shaping the future. We are proud to be a part of this community, and look forward to seeing the many ways in which NU will continue to inspire and impact future generations of students. Aapno NU – truly, it is ours.
