Rangmanch Presents a Nukkad Natak on “Nasha Mukti”

Rangmanch, the Theatre Society of NIIT University, performed a Nukkad Natak (street play) on the theme of “Nasha Mukti” (De-addiction) on September 29, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM at Courtyard-1. The play was aimed at students and showed how substance abuse can affect health, studies, friendships, and family life. Through everyday situations like peer pressure and curiosity, the performers showed how young people can slip into harmful habits without realizing the consequences. The event was attended by Chief Guest Ashok Kumar Singh, with Dr. Anshima Prakash Srivastava serving as the resource person.

The street-play format allowed the actors to connect directly with the audience, making the message feel personal rather than preachy. Instead of simply listing the dangers of addiction, the play showed how one decision can shape a person’s future, and how addiction affects not just the individual but also the people around them. It encouraged students to make informed choices and to support those who are struggling. Coordinated by Kavya Parnami and Vasvi Nehra, the performance showed how theatre can be a simple and powerful way to spread awareness on important social issues.
