Initiation of UTKARSH FELLOWSHIP in remembrance of Late Utkarsh Verma

The “UTKARSH Fellowship” is an initiative at NIIT University for the batch of 2019 students this year to celebrate, and carry the legacy of late NUton Utkarsh Verma (B.Tech. CSE, 2010-14) forward. The Fellowship was initiated by Dr. Neena Verma and Mr. Yogesh Verma, the Parents of the late Utkarsh Verma. The Fellowship is set up to endeavor and for celebrating the non-scholastic genius of a student and to recognize and honor a NUton with non-conventional skills, exceptional depth on wide-ranging topics, and issues beyond the scholastic curriculum. The Fellowship has been set up to be funded by the  UTKARSH Endowment Fund which was set up at NU by the Parents of the late Utkarsh Verma.   

The Fellowship will be awarded every year to one deserving student from among the third-year students, through specific selection criteria based on the student’s performance. It consists of a cash award of Rs 24,000/-, a Citation, and a Rolling “UTKARSH Legacy Plaque”. A “UTKARSH Reading Alcove” has also been set up at NU Library with books donated by the Parents of the late Utkarsh Verma which will continue every year. This initiative has been very helpful and has encouraged everyone in the university to perform better.
