The Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship(CIIE) at NIIT University organized an event testing the entrepreneurial skills of the participants. CIIE is known for organizing such events in the past too. This time, PitchpreNUre was aimed at motivating students to creatively delve into deriving solutions to real-world problems.
PitchpreNUre was organized as a two-phase event. Phase 1 was organized on March 08, 2022, it was aimed at testing the creative aspect of the participants. Participants were given time to brainstorm over a problem. A total of eight teams gathered and participated in a bid to get the desired sector of choice using virtual money. The teams were given a total of four days to prepare the pitch in their respective fields.
Phase 2 was conducted on March 13, 2022, in which a slot of 10 minutes was given to each team. 5 minutes were allotted for the presentation of the idea, 3 minutes for the Question and Answer session with the panel, and 2 minutes of audience interaction. Special Guest Mr. Prejith Pillai, Dean of Student Affairs- Maj. Gen. AK Singh and Professor Abhisek Dutta were present for Phase 2 of PitchpreNUre.
Team BSV and Team Hustlers were concluded as the winner and the runner up respectively. Team BSV consisting of Vansh Bhatnagar, Krishna Bhargav Ganti, and Shivam, had come up with the idea of ‘Smart Move’.
‘Smart Move’- a company that would provide processes and activities that form value in the form of services to the customer, they pitched a security system that was flexible, and could be integrated into any cargo container. They have fairly good prospects in terms of globalization and advancement in security systems.
Team Hustlers, consisting of Prashant Pandey, Priyanshu Singh, Hritik Kumar, and Arun Thakur, had come second in the event. They had pitched ‘Bhumi’ – an idea to acquire organic produce from extremely small-scale farmers, and prepare regional snacks. The idea also looked for employment opportunities for women and looked to grow into other domains apart from snacks or the food industry.
