77th Independence Day Celebration

The 77th Independence Day was celebrated with great zeal and patriotism at NIIT University (NU). A series of meticulously planned activities highlighted the spirit of unity and devotion to our motherland. The day began with NU President Dr. Rajesh Khanna hoisting the national flag, followed by a soul-stirring rendition of the National Anthem. He addressed our NUtons, and his words struck a chord with the audience as he emphasized the nation’s accomplishments, the value of nationhood, and the challenges that lie ahead. This symbolic gesture set the tone for the rest of the festivities. In the spirit of patriotism, our Impetus club, music society, and Kavishala club performed a Cultural Extravaganza of dance, song melody, and soulful poetry that enchanted our audience. The National Service Scheme (NSS) of our very own NU gave a brief presentation on “Meri Mati Mera Desh,” emphasizing the importance of contributing to the community and instilling a sense of responsibility towards the nation. Furthermore, the event moved on to recognize the invaluable support of staff members with awards presented by the President in the bowl area.

The audience was awestruck by Rangmanch NU, the Theatrical Society’s satirical skit on the pervasive abuse of fundamental rights by us Indians. The university captain Abhijeet Singh, vice-captain Prayati Paliwal, and speaker Nehel Jaswal all spoke on stage about the value of the freedom we enjoy today and how it is our duty as Indian citizens to take this opportunity to honor our freedom fighters and make a commitment to cherishing and protecting that freedom. Then NU Verismo responded with a musical performance as a group. The celebration came to a close with the distribution of sweets, which represented the nation’s diverse citizens’ sweet bond of unity—chanting Jai Hind! Vande Mataram! marked the end of the Independence Day celebration.
