Basics of Graphics by Consilio

An interactive workshop on Principles of Graphic Design was held on August 25 2024, aimed at exposing students to the basic concepts, and approaches to graphic designing. The session was organized by Team Consilio and it took place in CR-202.

The aim of the workshop is to equip young designers with an initial concept of graphic design by focusing on basic concepts such as balance, contrast, hierarchy, repetition, and alignment. The attendees were also taught key design elements, which comprised lines, shapes, colors, and typefaces.

Participants were introduced to Canva, an easy-to-use design tool, during the hands-on session. They experimented with templates, fonts, colors, and applying design principles to create their own projects, making the learning experience both practical and engaging.

On top of that, the workshop concluded with a feedback/Q&A session where students asked questions they had regarding their designs, and the respective feedback was given to the students on their projects.

There was an increased spike of interest amongst students on participating in further workshops.
