Republic Day – January 26, 2025
NIIT University celebrated India’s 76th Republic Day on January 26, 2025 with a series of events that celebrated patriotism, unity, and responsibility. The day began with the flag unfurling, followed by the National Anthem performed by NU Verismo, the music society, setting the tone for the occasion.
Dr. Prakash Gopalan, the President of the university, delivered an inspiring speech reflecting on the significance of the day, followed by a speech from the newly-elected University Vice Captain Ishvit Khajuria, Batch of 2022, Btech CSE, who shared his thoughts on the values of democracy and progress.
The event featured various performances and activities, including the UGC enforced Wetland-Mitra-Pledge led by the Sustainability Club to promote environmental conservation among students. The President also recognized the hard work of the support staff by distributing awards in appreciation of their contributions.
University Captain Alisha Sultana, Batch of 2022, iMBA, also addressed the gathering, urging students to lead with responsibility and embody the values that India celebrates on Republic Day. The day concluded with a powerful rendition of “Vande Mataram” and the distribution of sweets, leaving everyone with a sense of pride and unity.
