LLM Modelling Session
On March 6, 2025, NIIT University conducted an interactive and informative session on Large Language Model (LLM) Modeling at Lecture Theatre 222. The event was led by Prof. Kumkum Garg, a respected authority in artificial intelligence and machine learning. Around 15 participants, including students and faculty, attended the session.
Prof. Garg introduced the foundational concepts of LLMs, focusing on how these models are trained to understand and generate natural language. She explained the architecture behind powerful models like GPT and BERT, highlighting their growing relevance in AI-powered tools such as chatbots, content generators, and virtual assistants.
The session also encouraged thoughtful engagement, with discussions covering ethical challenges, data biases, and the broader implications of AI in fields like healthcare, education, and cybersecurity. Through hands-on demonstrations and real-world examples, attendees gained practical insights into the capabilities of modern transformer-based systems.
Ms Prachi Mehta supported the session as the designated resource person. The event concluded offering valuable exposure to current AI trends and encouraged students to explore opportunities in machine learning and language technologies.
