One Year Went So Fast

One year ago, with trembling heart, I came,
Confused, unsure, with fears I couldn’t name.
From school’s warm walls to halls unknown,
I felt so lost, so far from home.

I still recall that heavy first goodbye,
The teary eyes, the silent why.
A place so new, with faces strange,
I wondered—will anything ever change?

The trees of NIIT, they stood so tall,
witnessing my stumble, rise, and all.
Slowly, gently, they whispered peace,
and in their shade, my doubts did cease.

I didn’t like mess food, I won’t lie,
but don’t know when I stopped asking why.
From picky bites to plates wiped clean,
even that became part of my routine.

Then came LPL like a wave so wide,
A real-world dream I feared to ride.
With eleven strangers, I shared the load,
but together, we walked the road.

Don’t know how time passed from fear and doubt,
from thinking I might never stand out
To my team winning LPL with pride,
And me, “Woman of the Series,” by their side.

Same hands, same mind, same me inside,
just a new stage, with peace as my guide.

And teachers, strangers once, now near,
guiding with warmth, like those I held dear.

Don’t know how the calendar flipped so fast,
and how the mess of thoughts from the past
Melted into purpose, calm and light,
A journey from fear into fearless flight.

From missing home to calling this my own,
from feeling lost to how much I’ve grown.
This place became more than walls and class,
it became a mirror of dreams I’d yet to grasp.

One year went fast, but left its mark,
lit my path when all was dark.
And though nostalgia of school and childhood fills my chest,
I know this heart has found its rest.
