NU Women’s Basketball Team – Top 16 Finish at West Zone Inter-University Tournament

The NU Women’s Basketball Team achieved a commendable milestone by securing a Top 16 position at the West Zone Inter-University Basketball Tournament held from Dec 23, 2025 –Dec 27, 2025 at the Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education, Gwalior. The highly competitive tournament featured 96 universities from across the West Zone.

NIIT University began its campaign with a decisive victory against Gujarat Technological University, followed by a walkover win which advanced the team to the Pre-Quarterfinals. In a closely contested pre-quarterfinal match against Parul University, the team displayed exceptional grit, teamwork, and determination, narrowly missing progression.

This achievement reflects the growing strength of women’s basketball at NIIT University. Special appreciation is extended to coach Punit Sharma for his strategic guidance and to Sports Officer Prashant Nayak for unwavering support.
