NIIT University Students Showcase AI Research on Alpha-Beta Pruning
An exemplary research was conducted by three students of NIIT University, with Yuvraj Rajni Sachin Deshmukh, Shlok Burmi and Sujal Kishore, which sheds light on the principle of Alpha-Beta Pruning, an advanced optimisation method applied in Artificial Intelligence. They focused their study on the ability to enhance the efficiency of a method called the Minimax algorithm, which has formed the basis of strategic decision-making in game-playing artificial intelligence.
Alpha-Beta Pruning boosts computational efficiency by eliminating unnecessary branches in one of the decision trees, thereby, allowing the system to evaluate only the most relevant options. Such an improvement in methodology greatly reduces processing time and also maintains analytical accuracy. The paper highlights the urgency of algorithmic optimisation in order to respond to intricate issues in an effective manner, especially those that are tasked with time constraints.
This success reflects well on the research culture growing at NIIT University and indicates the strong technical capability and creative thinking of these students. Their activities provide testament to the practical implementation of AI ideas as well as a motivation for colleagues to pursue research-based scholarship.
