TEDx NIIT University 2026
The 9th Edition of TEDxNIIT University was successfully conducted on February 22nd, 2026, under the global TEDx license. The theme for this year, “Sublis – What Moves Beneath, Moves Us All,” explored how within every celebrated achievement flows a river of unacknowledged contribution. The event was a conglomeration of a wide range of speakers, showcasing diverse journeys and ideas from fields including filmmaking, dance, music, digital media, and fashion & lifestyle. The event witnessed participation from students, faculty members, professionals, and external attendees, fostering an environment of intellectual exchange and inspiration.
Speaker and Sessions
Neha Sakka, a professional in Rajasthan’s energy and electric mobility sector, spoke about how communities can reshape their approach to climate change, emphasizing the presence of hope and a sustainable path forward.
Vinit Goenka, Secretary of the Centre of Knowledge Sovereignty, shed light on how data has emerged as a currency in today’s world and discussed the approach India is applying to be data-independent.
Akshit, popularly known as AkGomzy across social media, delivered a guitar performance followed by a talk that was deeply relatable for students, explaining how repeated efforts and those silent moments are a crucial part of one’s journey and eventual success.
Shefali Chopra, a storyteller and motivational speaker, shared how stories are important in shaping a person’s perspectives and the kind of impact they can have on personality.
Sindhu Sridhar, Founder of SINS Studio and a fashion designer by profession, talked about how a piece of clothing is a representation of culture and tradition and is much more than meets the eye.
Rainy Varshney, a yoga athlete and a student at NIIT University, shared her journey, emphasizing how each phase of life brings its own challenges and lessons.
Remona Pereira reflected on the challenges she faced as a young dancer navigating her journey, while also addressing the relatable emotions experienced by the younger generation. She followed her talk with a Bharatnatyam performance.
Major Mohd. Ali Shah, a former Indian Army officer and an actor in movies such as The Tashkent Files and Haider, shared his life’s journey and emphasized how education led him to a journey that was unexpected yet fulfilling.
Shashwat Mishra, a podcaster and football pundit popularly known as DrogBABA, talked about how it is never too late to realize your passion, and how strong character and determination can help anyone reach great heights.
Keith Gomes concluded the speaker sessions with an interactive talk, emphasizing how life has its own way of unfolding, drawing from experiences in his own life.
Additional Highlights of TEDx NIIT University
In addition to the speaker sessions, the campus was decorated with art displays curated by the university’s creative team. The display included several notable pieces that captured a range of emotions, illustrating how the theme reflects the idea that each quiet moment reveals a different side of a person’s journey. A variety of food stalls were set up to provide refreshments, allowing informal interactions among the attendees, creating a vibrant atmosphere. All the registered participants received specially curated goodie bags containing merchandise such as mugs, badges, pens, and more, which added a personal touch to the experience.
The event successfully represented the TEDx mission, “Ideas Worth Spreading.” The execution of the event, along with the variety of speakers, resulted in it being engaging and impactful. By providing a platform around contemporary issues, the 9th edition continues the legacy of TEDxNIIT University and shows the university’s commitment towards fostering leadership, creativity, and community engagement.
