Invited Talk by Dr. Ramesh C. Gaur
Dr. Ramesh C. Gaur, Director (Library & Information in HAG Pay Scale) & Head, Kalanidhi Division Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts (IGNCA) (Autonomous body of Ministry of Culture, Government of India) was invited for a talk on Plagiarism, its detection and avoidance with a special reference to UGC Plagiarism Regulations 2018, at NIIT University on 21st November 2018. He gave a brief introduction of Academic Integrity Regulations 2018 and discussed about important points of the regulations such as departmental committee (Departmental Academic Integrity Panel, DAIP) at university level (Institutional Academic Integrity Panel, IAIP), penalties and duties of the university. He explained about plagiarism, different types of it and how a researcher can avoid it? He also made participants aware about the citation, reference management tools and usefulness of these tools. It was quite an interactive talk and Dr. Gaur also cleared the doubts of the participants.
