Invited Talk to Educate and Empower India

  A talk by Ms. Rashmi Misra who is renowned as the organizer and director of VIDYA (Vidya Integrated Development for Youth and Adults) was delivered on 12th January 2019. VIDYA is a non-government association run by 350 or more ordinary representatives and 5,000 volunteers. She emphasized that its central goal is to teach and enable the less advantaged, specifically youth, women, and youngsters, through incorporated strategies and starting and actualizing dynamic social change. While narrating an anecdote about the layout of education and formation of VIDYA, she mentioned that it began at her home with only five young women however before long changed into schools that had higher understudy limits. Her motivation comprises of fundamental education programs in English, PCs, aptitudes preparing, women’s wellbeing, women’s rights, business enterprise, and ecological courses. Since its origin, VIDYA schools have affected the lives of 220,000 underprivileged families in New Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore positively. Also as a milestone over all of these, VIDYA was one of just two New Delhi based projects highlighted in Hillary Clinton’s state visit to India in 1995. The audience admired her presence, thoughts, and applauses splatted after the talk.
