NIIT University Students Bag First Position in AABTonics GIS Competition

AABSys IT, an IT company headquartered in Odisha, organised AABTonics – An International GIS competition. AABSys IT is a leading exporter of GIS, CAD and other software services. This event was focused on promoting the use of GIS technology and innovation. Team Professional Pirates consisting of Trisha Sharma and Mayuri Mane, both from B.Tech CSE, Batch of 2018-22 of NIIT University bagged the first position and won Rs 50,000/-  by successfully demonstrating their prototype. The team was mentored by Dr. Thota Sivasankar, Assistant Professor, NIIT University. The prototype was able to perform crop classification using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning based techniques. The second and third positions were bagged by The Smart Transportation team from CEPT University and Team A Star from Symbiosis Institute of Geoinformatics respectively.
