Webinar: ‘Entrepreneurial Opportunities and Idea Generation – Validation and Evaluation’

Centre for Innovation, Incubation & Entrepreneurship (CIIE) at NIIT University organized a webinar on 29th August 2020. This webinar was based on ‘Entrepreneurial Opportunities and Idea Generation- Validation and Evaluation’. It was aimed at providing the students with proper guidance on generating ideas and leading good entrepreneurship. The guest speakers were, Dr. Ranjeet Mehta, Principal Director, PHDCCI; Mr. D P Goel, Co-Chairman MSME Committee PHDCCI and Mr. Vivek Dahiya, Founder, Boudhik Ventures. It was moderated by Dr. Vikas Upadhyaya and Mr. Mithilesh Kumar.

The session began with Prof. Eswaran Narasimhan welcoming the speakers. Dr. Ranjeet Mehta spoke about the power of beliefs and self-confidence. He highlighted the importance of one’s faith in his/her ideas which he believes many aspiring entrepreneurs miss. Mr. D P Goel narrated his story from being a ‘Job Seeker’ to becoming a ‘Job Creator’. He has also said, ‘One must look for opportunities and work on them with a mindset of creating more such opportunities’.

The session was carried further by Mr. Vivek Dahiya who talked about patents and problems faced by entrepreneurs. He highlighted the importance of IP (Intellectual Property) rights to entrepreneurs through various case studies on IP rights. The talk was followed by a questioning session where students asked their doubts. The session ended with closing remarks from Prof. Eswaran Narasimhan.
