Decoding The Indian Classics

On 3rd October 2020, TALF conducted their first virtual event, Decoding the Classical Wings of Veena, as the third episode of their series, Decoding the Indian Classics. Distinguished personalities, Mr. Rajendra Pawar, Mr. Vijay Thadani, Air Commander Kamal Singh, and Prof. Eswaran Narasimhan graced the event with their presence.

Ananya Tripathi B.Tech Batch 2019-23 started the event as a host with a wonderful and very enlightening introduction of Veena. She spoke about the significance and relevance of veena in the Vedic and ancient times.

Ananya Kambhampati iMBA Batch 2020-24, was the artist who amazed the audience with her knowledge and artistic skills in playing Veena. She revealed all the facts and beliefs associated with Saraswati Veena. Ananya left the audience spellbound by playing various melodies. She talked about the importance of music in spiritual growth and healing, citing several Puranic examples. Furthermore, she explained why the veena is considered a divine and auspicious instrument, as it is believed that Lord Shiva resides in the body of the Veena, and Goddess Parvati in the strings. Ananya ended her performance with an amazing song in Mohan Raag.

The event ended on an enlightening note by Mr. Rajendra Pawar, expressing his heartfelt contentment with the presentation and inspiring message for everyone.
