The NIIT University Fashion Society, PRISM, presented a spectacular walk, held on August 9, 2023, at Spine, featuring the theme “Barbienheimer.” those intrepid souls going that double-feature route have used social media to ponder the optimal schedule for ingesting two massive hunks of movie This unique and imaginative theme combined the iconic Barbie doll aesthetic with the edgy and avant-garde elements of the Steampunk movement, resulting in a mesmerizing fusion of styles that captivated the audience.

The event commenced with a dynamic opening act that set the tone for the evening. The runway itself was a work of art, reflecting bright light arrangements throughout the entire spine area. The heart of the event was the outstanding work of the students, each of whom brought their unique vision to life through their designs. Their dedication and creativity were truly commendable, and their efforts were celebrated throughout the event.

The coordinator’s collection, Arya Ghai, BTech Batch 2021–25, was a tasteful combination of vivid colors reminiscent of Barbie, paired with a striking walk. Anushree Sarpotda, iMBA Batch 2020–24, fully embraced the theme, and her ensemble exuded audacity. The Barbienheimer theme was given a futuristic twist by Madhav Sharma, BTech Batch 2021–25, and Mayank, BTech Batch 2022–26, who produced a collection that perfectly captured the avant-garde vibe of the occasion. 

Tanya Singh, BTech Batch 2021–25, elicited applause from the audience with her all-black look, which perfectly embodied the audacious corporate attitude of today’s women. The BTech students Alisha Sultana, Guni Sharma, and Khushi Agarwal all had distinct styles and wore a combination of a suit and skirt, giving them a similar vibe to Tanya’s. 

Both Ojas Dasarwar, a BTech Batch 2022–26, and Smitesh Deshmukh, a BTech Batch 2022–26, were walking with their hands pounded with gratitude and pleasure.

The University Fashion Walk, with its “Barbienheimer” theme, showcased the incredible talent and dedication of the students. The seamless integration of Barbie’s timeless elegance and Steampunk’s bold ingenuity created a visual feast that will be remembered for years to come. This event not only celebrated fashion but also demonstrated the power of creative expression in reflecting and shaping culture.

As the curtain fell on the event, it was evident that the students had successfully risen to the challenge of the “Barbienheimer” theme, leaving the audience excited for the future of fashion and eagerly anticipating the next creative journey that the university’s fashion program would embark upon.
