Two Day Faculty Development Programme on “Systematic Literature Review and Bibliometric Analysis” (May 21 and 26 2026)

A two-day faculty development programme on “Systematic Literature Review and Bibliometric Analysis” was organized by the management area on May 21 and 26, 2026 in a physical mode at the NU campus. The main purpose of this programme was to train and develop among participants a scientific approach among learners identifying research gaps and future directions for research using Systematic literature reviews (SLR) and Bibliometric Analysis.
The day 1 of session majorly focussed on the conceptual aspects of systematic literature review and how it differed significantly with traditional literature review. In the session, key aspects covered were PRISMSA framework, steps involved in systematic literature review, techniques and applications of science mapping like co-citation analysis, bibliographic coupling, VOSviewer platform and R as well as its interface. The session on 2nd day focussed was on how to use VOSviewer and R platform for doing systematic literature review and bibliometric analysis. The session was purely practical in nature and was demonstrated using globally indexed databases such as Scopus and Dimensions. At the end, MCQ based quiz was conducted to assess both day’s session learning outcomes.

Key learnings from this FDP were:
· Working procedure for systematic literature review using PRISMA framework for impactful research
· Science mapping like co-citation, bibliographic coupling, co-word analysis, and co-authorship analysis)
· Network visualization VOSviewer and R tools for bibliometric analysis
· Development of thematic cluster (conceptual, intellectual, and social structure)

Dr. Gyanesh Kumar Sinha, Professor (Management), NIIT University and Mr. Ayush Kumar Sharma, Assistant Professor (Management), NIIT University were the resource faculty. There were 15 participants (faculty and research scholars from NU), registered for the FDP represent management, biotechnology, humanities and social sciences, and mathematics and basic sciences area. Prof. Vivek Saxena, the FDP convenor, thanked every participant for joining the session and appreciate resource faculty for engaging and enriching sessions. He also thanked the NU management and administration for providing all necessary support and help in conducting FDP sessions smoothly.
