Report on Participation in MIT VPU Samved Hackathon, Solapur
A team of students from NIIT University participated in the MIT VPU Samved Hackathon held in Solapur, showcasing their technical skills and innovative thinking on a national platform.
The team, named KILOBYTE, comprised Khushi Kathuria, Priyanshu Sharma, Sashwat Puri Sachdev, Divyansh Bhatt, and Jaimis Kumar. Competing against approximately 700 teams from across the country, they successfully progressed through multiple rigorous evaluation rounds.
After clearing consecutive online screening stages, the team secured a position among the Top 75 teams and further advanced to the Top 25, earning a place in the final round conducted on-site in Solapur.
During the two-day final evaluation, the team presented their project to officials from the Solapur Municipal Corporation (SMC) and the Honourable Mayor of Solapur. Their solution was evaluated based on innovation, feasibility, and real-world applicability.
The team achieved an outstanding result by securing third prize (Consolation Prize) along with a cash award of ₹50,000. Their performance testifies strong technical foundation and problem-solving capabilities of NIIT University students.
The team was mentored by Dr. Jitendra Joshi, whose guidance and support played an important role in their success.
