Rath Mahotsav

Makar Sankranti, the day of the Lord Sun stands to be one of the most auspicious days in the Hindu calendar. Marking the end of winter and the new harvest seasons for the farmers, it was also the outset of the first event of 2023 for NIIT University on January 15, 2023.

A kite flying competition was hosted by the NSS and the joy of flying kites and cutting the strings of other kites was unmatched, and the air of celebration was euphoric. It engaged not only every single student on the campus but also the faculty and leadership. Proud in traditional attire the camel rides and sun-kissed pictures were fine moments for the semester to have a fresh start.

Additionally, Army Day, which also falls on January 15 every year, was celebrated at the NEP at 11:30 A.M for the locals and NUtons and NUrturers to witness. Beautiful poetry by the poetic society of NU ‘Kavishala’ and local bards awed everyone. Local musicians and singers enchanted everyone with their songs, music and dance performances. Adding to this the Bhandara acted as a significant escape plan from the mess food.

The wholesome vibe of togetherness is what NU aims for this academic year.
